Kettlebells are a different kind of weight lifting that can raise the heart rate, tone muscle, and torch calories in very little time. With all the hype on kettlebells when I found a deal on an adjustable one that I could use for a while I jumped on it to give kettlebells a try and the result was amazing.
As I lose this baby weight and work to get back in shape I find myself getting bored with my workouts much faster than I did in my younger years. I have to change things up often to keep seeing changes and getting the motivation to jump into a workout when I would rather snuggle under a blanket. This is why when I find a good deal on something new I dive right in. like my heavy punching bag the whole family enjoys the kettlebell was a great investment.
Why you should try kettlebells
Kettlebells can help you burn more calories
I used a Heart Rate Monitor hooked up to my DDP Yoga app on my phone while I workout and use it to keep track of what zone my heart rate is in. In otherwords to make sure I am burning the most fat possible while I workout and to acriatly track how many calories I am burining.
Working with my kettlebells allows me to get my heart rate up fast with very little effort. In fact unlike a hard workout on the rowing machine when I finished with the kettlebells I am often wired and full of energy even without taking a pre-workout supplement. Despite the lack of strain, the kettlebell is one of the fastest ways to burn off calories for me. The calorie burn calculator in my app goes nuts with the kettlebell fairly equal to a hard boxing workout.
Work more muscles at a time
One of the reasons kettlebells burn so many calories is that when we use them most kettlebell moves use large groups of muscles both large and small in one move. This is why the kettle beel swing can leave you feeling sore from head to toe in the begining. Adding kettlebells helped me to work my entire body alowing me to tone and strengthen in less time.
Kettlebells are don’t take up a lot of space.
Let’s face it. My rowing machine, punching bag, and even my yoga mat take up more space than my adjustable kettlebell set does. I can even leave it on the bookshelf in my bedroom when not in use. And due to the compact size of a kettlebell, I can take it anywhere with me. Just tonight I was using my kettlebell to workout in the kitchen while I made burgers for my husband and me.
To maximize my effect of a workout in small spaces like my kitchen I toss on a Booty Band to help work my hips, thighs, and glutes even more while I workout. This can be an incredibly effective way to get a workout in even if I only have a few minutes.
Kettlebell workouts are easy to learn
If you have ever signed up for a workout class and discovered you have no idea what you are doing you know that not all workouts are easy to learn. I for one will never forget trying to keep up with my first Zumba class. Kettlebells are not like that. Nearly anyone can do the basic kettlebell moves make kettlebell workouts perfect for beginners.
Kettlebesll help stenghtern and balance yoru body.
Most kettlebell moves put a strain on one side of your body at a time but require your core and the other side of your body to balance while you go through the moves. It didn’t take long for me to find myself ready to buy some new pants from my toning core and discover my posture and balance have improved after adding kettlebells to my workout routines. These improvements affect your overall health and body mechanics in ways you don’t realize until it happens.
